Dr. Jerilynn C. Prior Featured in CIHR Impact Story

We are thrilled to share that Dr. Jerilynn C. Prior, CeMCOR’s founder and scientific director, has been featured in a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Impact Story published today. The article highlights her groundbreaking research on oral micronized progesterone as a treatment for perimenopausal night sweats and sleep disturbances.

From 2012 to 2017, Dr. Prior led a CIHR-funded randomized controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy of progesterone for perimenopausal symptom relief. This study was a significant step forward in expanding treatment options for those experiencing perimenopausal challenges. The findings, published in 2023, confirmed that progesterone can significantly reduce night sweats and improve sleep quality, offering a safer, non-estrogen alternative for symptom management.
